FWD and RWD Sprinters differ: RWD loses roughly 70-100 mm of internal height and twin-rear-wheel models narrow the wheel-arch gap to ~1,350 mm. What length racking fits in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter L1 on the offside?

On a 2018-on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter L1 the StowPro Offside kit runs 2,250 mm of shelving along a 2,732 mm load floor; on the 2011-2018 Sprinter L1 it is the same 2,250 mm kit along a 2,600 mm floor.

The offside (driver's side) has no sliding door breaking it up, so it takes your longest run before the rear doors. For this side only choose the Offside Only kit; for both walls choose the Full Kit.

How long is the load area in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter?

The 2018-on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter load length is 2,732 mm on the L1, 3,397 mm on the L2, 4,410 mm on the L3 and 4,810 mm on the L4; the 2011-2018 Sprinter is 2,600 mm on the L1, 3,265 mm on the L2 and 4,300 mm on the L3, measured along the floor.

Do the 2011-2018 and the 2018-on Sprinter take the same racking?

The L1 and L3 do: the same StowPro kits fit both generations. The L2 takes a different kit on each, with a 2,500 mm offside run on the 2011-2018 L2 and 2,750 mm on the longer 2018-on L2.

Do I need the nearside or offside racking kit for my Mercedes-Benz Sprinter?

Choose the Offside (driver's side) kit for the longest uninterrupted run, the Nearside (passenger side) kit to rack around the sliding door, or the Full Kit to fit out both walls.

On both generations of the Sprinter the standard sliding load door is on the nearside, so that side is split into shorter modules while the offside takes the longer run. Most trades kitting out a whole van take the Full Kit.

Will racking fit between the wheel arches in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter?

Yes. There is 1,412 mm between the wheel arches on a front-wheel-drive 2018-on Sprinter and 1,350 mm on the 2011-2018 van (and on rear-wheel-drive and twin-wheel 2018-on models), and StowPro units are sized to sit within that width.

Above the arches the load area opens out to 1,787 mm on the 2018-on van and 1,780 mm on the 2011-2018 van, so upper shelves can be wider than the floor-level base.

Will fitting racking reduce my Mercedes-Benz Sprinter payload?

Long items travel at floor level: the load length, 4,810 mm on a 2018-on L4 or 4,300 mm on a 2011-2018 L3, is measured along the floor, and StowPro racking sits against the wall so the load floor in front of it stays clear.

Don't plan on carrying a full-length item on top of the racking. Higher up, the bulkhead and cab seats intrude, so the usable length above the floor is shorter than the floor figure. The offside kit itself runs 3,750 mm along the wall on either generation's L3; tell us your body and year and we'll confirm what fits.
