Offside or nearside?

Bird's-eye view of a right-hand-drive panel van: the offside (driver's side) takes one clear racking run from bulkhead to rear doors; the nearside (passenger side) racking is split by the sliding door.
Offside — one clear run Nearside — split by the sliding door

Bird's-eye view of a typical UK right-hand-drive van, with the standard single nearside sliding door.

Offside · driver's side

The longer run

The offside normally has no door breaking it up, so it takes the longest continuous racking run — the best wall for long items and full-height units.

Choose: Offside Only

Nearside · passenger side

Around the side door

The sliding load door splits this wall, so the nearside kit is modular fore and aft of the aperture, keeping loading access clear.

Choose: Nearside Only

Racking both walls? The Full Kit covers offside and nearside together.

Citroën Berlingo floor dimensions from manufacturer/reference data; offside and nearside run widths from StowPro kit specifications. The 2008-2018 rows are the previous-shape Berlingo, the same van as the 2008-2018 Peugeot Partner. The 2018-on rows are the current Stellantis small van, shared with the Partner, Vauxhall Combo, Toyota Proace City and, from 2022, the Fiat Doblo. The L1 kit fits both generations. For a 2008-2018 L2, ask us.

Citroën Berlingo racking - common questions

What length racking fits in a Citroën Berlingo L1 on the offside?

On a 2018-on Citroën Berlingo L1 the StowPro Offside kit runs 1,250 mm of shelving along a 1,817 mm load floor; on the 2008-2018 Berlingo L1 it is the same 1,250 mm kit along a 1,800 mm floor.

The offside (driver's side) has no sliding door breaking it up, so it takes your longest run before the rear doors. For this side only choose the Offside Only kit; for both walls choose the Full Kit.

How long is the load area in a Citroën Berlingo?

The 2018-on Citroën Berlingo load length is 1,817 mm on the L1 and 2,167 mm on the L2; the 2008-2018 Berlingo is 1,800 mm on the L1 and 2,050 mm on the L2, measured along the floor.

Load width is about 1,550 mm on the 2018-on van and 1,620 mm on the 2008-2018 van, narrowing to about 1,230 mm between the wheel arches on both. StowPro build a kit for each of these bodies, so you match the rack to your exact van.

Do the 2008-2018 and the 2018-on Berlingo take the same racking?

The L1 does: the same StowPro L1 kit fits both generations, because the load length and the gap between the wheel arches are within a few millimetres of each other.

For the 2018-on L2 there is a listed kit; for a 2008-2018 L2, ask us and we will confirm what fits. If you are buying for a van from around 2018, check the shape rather than the year: the 2018-on van is the current Stellantis small van shared with the Peugeot Partner, Vauxhall Combo and Toyota Proace City, and the 2008-2018 van is the previous shape, shared with the 2008-2018 Partner.

Do I need the nearside or offside racking kit for my Citroën Berlingo?

Choose the Offside (driver's side) kit for the longest uninterrupted run, the Nearside (passenger side) kit to rack around the sliding door, or the Full Kit to fit out both walls.

On both generations of the Berlingo the standard sliding load door is on the nearside, so that side is split into shorter modules while the offside takes the longer run. Most trades kitting out a whole van take the Full Kit.

Is Citroën Berlingo racking the same as Vauxhall Combo racking?

For the 2018-on Berlingo, yes: it is the same van as the 2018-on Vauxhall Combo, Peugeot Partner, Toyota Proace City and 2022-on Fiat Doblo, with identical load dimensions, so StowPro racking built for one fits the others.

The 2008-2018 Berlingo is the same van as the 2008-2018 Peugeot Partner only. Match the generation and the body length and the kit is interchangeable across the badge-engineered twins.

Can I still carry long items past the racking in a Citroën Berlingo?

Yes, at floor level. StowPro racking sits against the wall and leaves the load floor clear, and if your Citroën Berlingo has a load-through hatch, long items can pass through the bulkhead at floor level.

The load-through length quoted by the manufacturer only applies at the floor with the hatch open; higher up the bulkhead intrudes, so plan around the floor length and don't count on resting long items on top of the racking.

Will fitting racking reduce my Citroën Berlingo payload?

Racking uses some of the Citroën Berlingo's payload, but StowPro units are built from lightweight load-rated steel to keep that to a minimum.

Fit only the side or sides you need (Offside, Nearside or Full Kit) and keep heavy stock low and central to protect your remaining payload and handling.

What's the longest item I can carry down the side of a Citroën Berlingo?

Long items travel at floor level: the load length, 2,167 mm on a 2018-on L2 or 2,050 mm on a 2008-2018 L2, is measured along the floor, and StowPro racking sits against the wall so the load floor in front of it stays clear.

Don't plan on carrying a full-length item on top of the racking. Higher up, the bulkhead and cab seats intrude, so the usable length above the floor is shorter than the floor figure. The offside kit itself runs 1,650 mm along the wall on the 2018-on L2; tell us your body and year and we'll confirm what fits.

Van Racking for the Citroen Berlingo

Walk any merchant's car park and you'll spot a Berlingo inside a minute. It's one of the most common small trade vans in Britain, and we rack it in L1 and L2.

For a van this size the choice is simple. Shelving kits put open steel shelves down the side, each rated to 40kg, with a top tray for the long stuff. Workshop kits add drawers, and in a small van drawers earn their keep fast: the fixings stay sorted, nothing gets buried, and you stop starting every job with a dig through the tubs. That saved time, day in day out, is what the kit actually buys you.

The racking itself is heavy duty, hard-wearing steel with sturdy fabricated end frames, manufactured and assembled at our workshop in Devon and covered by a 3 year guarantee.

It reaches you on a pallet, units already built. Sit them in the van, fix them to the floor and sides with the brackets and fixings supplied, and the installation guide takes care of the rest. Our team are on the phone if you'd rather be talked through it.

The Berlingo shares its body with the Peugeot Partner, Vauxhall Combo, Fiat Doblo and Transit Connect, so the fitment list on each kit names them all with exact years and sizes. Ribbed anti slip mats, bins and end frame accessories finish the job, and build your own or a custom design covers anything the standard kits don't.
