What length racking fits in a Ford Transit L2 on the offside?

On a Ford Transit L2 the offside gives the longest single racking run, along a load length of 2,946 mm.

The StowPro Offside kit runs 2,500 mm of shelving before the rear doors — the driver's-side wall is the best place for your longest run. For this side only choose the Offside Only kit; for both walls choose the Full Kit.

How long is the load area in a Ford Transit?

The Ford Transit load length is 2,946 mm on the L2, 3,494 mm on the L3 and 4,217 mm on the L4, measured along the floor.

Do I need the nearside or offside racking kit for my Ford Transit?

Choose the Offside (driver's side) kit for the longest uninterrupted run, the Nearside (passenger side) kit to rack around the sliding door, or the Full Kit to fit out both walls.

On the Ford Transit the standard sliding load door is on the nearside, so that side is split into shorter modules while the offside takes the longer run. Most trades kitting out a whole van take the Full Kit.

It can — rear-wheel-drive Ford Transit vans sit higher, losing roughly 70–100 mm of internal height, and twin-rear-wheel models narrow the gap between the wheel arches.

The load length is unchanged, so the offside/nearside kit choice is the same; just allow for the lower roof height and check the arch width if you're on twin wheels.

Will fitting racking reduce my Ford Transit payload?

Racking uses some of the Ford Transit's payload, but StowPro units are built from lightweight load-rated steel to keep that to a minimum.

What's the longest item I can carry down the side of a Ford Transit?

Long items travel at floor level in a Ford Transit: the 4,217 mm load length on the largest body is measured along the floor, and StowPro racking sits against the wall so the load floor in front of it stays clear.

Don't plan on carrying a full-length item on top of the racking — higher up the bulkhead and cab seats intrude, so the usable length above the floor is shorter than the floor figure. The offside kit itself runs 2,750 mm along the wall; tell us your body and roof and we'll confirm what fits.

Shelving kits run open steel shelving down both sides, every shelf rated to 40kg, with top trays for the long and the light. Workshop kits put a beech worktop over a bank of drawers, so you've got a bench in the back of the van. The Workstation kit is the full mobile workshop: worktop, drawers, shelving and Lin Bins for the small parts. Every tool with a home means less time hunting and more time earning.

Kits arrive palletised and already built. Position the units, fix them to the floor and sides of the van with the supplied brackets and fixings, and follow the installation guide. Our team are on the end of the phone if you want a hand along the way. As one customer put it, the rack came pretty much preassembled and was easy to install with the kit provided.

These kits are sized to the big van bodyshell, so most also fit the Sprinter, Crafter, Relay, Boxer, Ducato and Daily. The fitment list on each kit gives you exact years and sizes.
