Offside or nearside?

Bird's-eye view of a right-hand-drive panel van: the offside (driver's side) takes one clear racking run from bulkhead to rear doors; the nearside (passenger side) racking is split by the sliding door.

Offside · driver's side

The longer run

The offside normally has no door breaking it up, so it takes the longest continuous racking run — the best wall for long items and full-height units.

Around the side door

The sliding load door splits this wall, so the nearside kit is modular fore and aft of the aperture, keeping loading access clear.

Choose: Nearside Only

Renault Master racking — common questions

What length racking fits in a Renault Master L1 on the offside?

On a Renault Master L1 the offside gives the longest single racking run, along a load length of 2,583 mm.

The StowPro Offside kit runs 2,250 mm of shelving before the rear doors — the driver's-side wall is the best place for your longest run. For this side only choose the Offside Only kit; for both walls choose the Full Kit.

How long is the load area in a Renault Master?

The Renault Master load length is 2,583 mm on the L1, 3,083 mm on the L2, 3,733 mm on the L3 and 4,383 mm on the L4, measured along the floor.

Load width is 1,765 mm, narrowing to 1,380 mm (1,080 mm twin-wheel) between the wheel arches. StowPro build a kit for each of these bodies, so you match the rack to your exact van.

Do I need the nearside or offside racking kit for my Renault Master?

Choose the Offside (driver's side) kit for the longest uninterrupted run, the Nearside (passenger side) kit to rack around the sliding door, or the Full Kit to fit out both walls.

On the Renault Master the standard sliding load door is on the nearside, so that side is split into shorter modules while the offside takes the longer run. Most trades kitting out a whole van take the Full Kit.

Is Renault Master racking the same as Nissan Interstar racking?

Yes — the Renault Master, Nissan Interstar are the same van with different badges and identical load dimensions, so StowPro racking built for one fits the others.

Match the body length and roof height and the kit is interchangeable across the badge-engineered twins.

How much headroom is there for tall racking in a Renault Master?

The Renault Master offers H1 1,700 / H2 1,894 / H3 2,144 mm of internal load height depending on the roof, so taller units and vertical storage fit on the higher-roof bodies.

Check your roof code (H1/H2/H3) before choosing full-height shelving — the standard roof takes less than the high or super-high.

Does front- or rear-wheel drive change the racking fit on a Renault Master?

It can — rear-wheel-drive Renault Master vans sit higher, losing roughly 70–100 mm of internal height, and twin-rear-wheel models narrow the gap between the wheel arches.

The load length is unchanged, so the offside/nearside kit choice is the same; just allow for the lower roof height and check the arch width if you're on twin wheels.

Will fitting racking reduce my Renault Master payload?

Racking uses some of the Renault Master's payload, but StowPro units are built from lightweight load-rated steel to keep that to a minimum.

Fit only the side(s) you need (Offside, Nearside or Full Kit) and keep heavy stock low and central to protect your remaining payload and handling.

What's the longest item I can carry down the side of a Renault Master?

Long items travel at floor level in a Renault Master: the 4,383 mm load length on the largest body is measured along the floor, and StowPro racking sits against the wall so the load floor in front of it stays clear.

Don't plan on carrying a full-length item on top of the racking — higher up the bulkhead and cab seats intrude, so the usable length above the floor is shorter than the floor figure. The offside kit itself runs 3,250 mm along the wall; tell us your body and roof and we'll confirm what fits.

Van Racking for the Renault Master

Fleets run Masters because they swallow work, and a racked Master swallows it in order. We build for L1 through L3, standard to high roof, in shelving and workshop forms.

The shelving kits are the backbone: open steel shelves rated to 40kg each, top trays for pipe and trunking, kick plates with lashing points at the bottom for strapping the awkward stuff. The workshop kits add a drawer bank so there's a home for everything smaller than a shelf. What you're really buying is the end of the daily van excavation, and the site time that hands back.

The racking is heavy duty and hard-wearing, manufactured in Devon for the toughest demands, with sturdy fabricated end frames and steel that's designed to take a beating. Every kit carries a 3 year guarantee.

It arrives assembled on a pallet. Position the units in the van, fix them to the floor and sides with the brackets and fixings supplied, and work through the installation guide, with our team on the phone for any of it. If the van changes down the line for another the same size, the racking is reusable: unbolt it and move it over.

The Master shares its body with the Vauxhall Movano and Nissan NV400, and several kits fit the Sprinter, Relay, Boxer and Ducato as well. Check each kit's fitment list for exact years and sizes, then finish with mats, bins and end frame accessories.
