Offside or nearside?
Bird's-eye view of a typical UK right-hand-drive van, with the standard single nearside sliding door.
The longer run
The offside normally has no door breaking it up, so it takes the longest continuous racking run — the best wall for long items and full-height units.
Choose: Offside Only
Around the side door
The sliding load door splits this wall, so the nearside kit is modular fore and aft of the aperture, keeping loading access clear.
Choose: Nearside Only
Racking both walls? The Full Kit covers offside and nearside together.
Toyota Proace floor dimensions from manufacturer/reference data; offside and nearside run widths from StowPro kit specifications. Current Stellantis van, shared with the Peugeot Expert, Citroën Dispatch, Vauxhall Vivaro and Fiat Scudo. With the load-through bulkhead the floor extends to ~4,024 mm, but that is not usable rack length.
Toyota Proace racking - common questions
What length racking fits in a Toyota Proace on the offside?
On a Toyota Proace the StowPro Offside kit runs 1,650 mm of shelving on the Compact, 2,000 mm on the Medium and 2,250 mm on the Long, before the rear doors.
The offside (driver's side) has no sliding door breaking it up, so it takes your longest run. For this side only choose the Offside Only kit; for both walls choose the Full Kit.
How long is the load area in a Toyota Proace?
The Toyota Proace load length is 2,162 mm on the Compact, 2,512 mm on the Medium and 2,862 mm on the Long, measured along the floor.
Load width is 1,628 mm, narrowing to 1,258 mm between the wheel arches. StowPro build a kit for each of these bodies, so you match the rack to your exact van.
Do I need the nearside or offside racking kit for my Toyota Proace?
Choose the Offside (driver's side) kit for the longest uninterrupted run, the Nearside (passenger side) kit to rack around the sliding door, or the Full Kit to fit out both walls.
On the Toyota Proace the standard sliding load door is on the nearside, so that side is split into shorter modules while the offside takes the longer run. Most trades kitting out a whole van take the Full Kit.
Is Toyota Proace racking the same as Vauxhall Vivaro racking?
Yes. The Toyota Proace, 2019-on Vauxhall Vivaro, Peugeot Expert, Citroën Dispatch and 2022-on Fiat Scudo are the same van with different badges and identical load dimensions, so StowPro racking built for one fits the others.
Match the body length and roof height and the kit is interchangeable across the badge-engineered twins.
Can I still carry long items past the racking in a Toyota Proace?
Yes, at floor level. StowPro racking sits against the wall and leaves the load floor clear, and if your Toyota Proace has a load-through bulkhead, long items can pass through it at floor level.
The load-through length quoted by the manufacturer only applies at the floor with the hatch open; higher up the bulkhead intrudes, so plan around the floor length and don't count on resting long items on top of the racking.
Will fitting racking reduce my Toyota Proace payload?
Racking uses some of the Toyota Proace's payload, but StowPro units are built from lightweight load-rated steel to keep that to a minimum.
Fit only the side or sides you need (Offside, Nearside or Full Kit) and keep heavy stock low and central to protect your remaining payload and handling.
What's the longest item I can carry down the side of a Toyota Proace?
Long items travel at floor level: the 2,862 mm load length on the Long is measured along the floor, and StowPro racking sits against the wall so the load floor in front of it stays clear.
Don't plan on carrying a full-length item on top of the racking. Higher up, the bulkhead and cab seats intrude, so the usable length above the floor is shorter than the floor figure. The offside kit itself runs 2,250 mm along the wall on the Long; tell us your body and roof and we'll confirm what fits.
