Offside or nearside?

Bird's-eye view of a right-hand-drive panel van: the offside (driver's side) takes one clear racking run from bulkhead to rear doors; the nearside (passenger side) racking is split by the sliding door.
Offside — one clear run Nearside — split by the sliding door

Bird's-eye view of a typical UK right-hand-drive van, with the standard single nearside sliding door.

Offside · driver's side

The longer run

The offside normally has no door breaking it up, so it takes the longest continuous racking run — the best wall for long items and full-height units.

Choose: Offside Only

Nearside · passenger side

Around the side door

The sliding load door splits this wall, so the nearside kit is modular fore and aft of the aperture, keeping loading access clear.

Choose: Nearside Only

Racking both walls? The Full Kit covers offside and nearside together.

Peugeot Expert floor dimensions from manufacturer/reference data; offside and nearside run widths from StowPro kit specifications. The 2007-2016 rows are the previous Expert, the same van as the 2007-2016 Citroën Dispatch and Fiat Scudo, standard roof; high-roof kits for that van are not listed, so ask us. The 2016-on rows are the current Stellantis van, shared with the Dispatch, Vauxhall Vivaro, Toyota Proace and 2022-on Scudo. The 2007-2016 L2 and the 2016-on Standard take the same kit; the 2007-2016 L1 has a kit of its own. With the load-through bulkhead the 2016-on floor extends to ~4,024 mm, but that is not usable rack length.

Peugeot Expert racking - common questions

What length racking fits in a Peugeot Expert on the offside?

On a 2016-on Peugeot Expert the StowPro Offside kit runs 1,650 mm of shelving on the Compact, 2,000 mm on the Standard and 2,250 mm on the Long; on a 2007-2016 Expert it runs 1,650 mm on the L1 and 2,000 mm on the L2.

The offside (driver's side) has no sliding door breaking it up, so it takes your longest run before the rear doors. For this side only choose the Offside Only kit; for both walls choose the Full Kit.

How long is the load area in a Peugeot Expert?

The 2016-on Peugeot Expert load length is 2,162 mm on the Compact, 2,512 mm on the Standard and 2,862 mm on the Long; the 2007-2016 Expert is 2,254 mm on the L1 and 2,584 mm on the L2, measured along the floor.

Load width is 1,628 mm on the 2016-on van, narrowing to 1,258 mm between the wheel arches; the 2007-2016 van is 1,600 mm wide and 1,245 mm between the arches. StowPro build a kit for each of these bodies, so you match the rack to your exact van.

Do the 2007-2016 and the 2016-on Expert take the same racking?

Partly. The 2007-2016 L2 and the 2016-on Standard take the same StowPro kit; the 2007-2016 L1 has a kit of its own, which is not the 2016-on Compact kit.

Pick your generation in the van search or read the table above, and if your van is from around 2016 check the shape rather than the year: the 2016-on Expert is the current Stellantis van shared with the Dispatch, Vivaro, Proace and Scudo, and the 2007-2016 Expert is the previous shape shared with the 2007-2016 Dispatch and Scudo. High-roof kits for the 2007-2016 van are not listed, so ask us.

Do I need the nearside or offside racking kit for my Peugeot Expert?

Choose the Offside (driver's side) kit for the longest uninterrupted run, the Nearside (passenger side) kit to rack around the sliding door, or the Full Kit to fit out both walls.

On both generations of the Expert the standard sliding load door is on the nearside, so that side is split into shorter modules while the offside takes the longer run. Most trades kitting out a whole van take the Full Kit.

Is Peugeot Expert racking the same as Vauxhall Vivaro racking?

For the 2016-on Expert, yes: it is the same van as the 2019-on Vauxhall Vivaro, Citroën Dispatch, Toyota Proace and 2022-on Fiat Scudo, with identical load dimensions, so StowPro racking built for one fits the others.

The 2007-2016 Expert is the same van as the 2007-2016 Citroën Dispatch and Fiat Scudo. Match the generation and the body length and the kit is interchangeable across the badge-engineered twins.

Can I still carry long items past the racking in a Peugeot Expert?

Yes, at floor level. StowPro racking sits against the wall and leaves the load floor clear, and if your Peugeot Expert has a load-through bulkhead, long items can pass through it at floor level.

The load-through length quoted by the manufacturer only applies at the floor with the hatch open; higher up the bulkhead intrudes, so plan around the floor length and don't count on resting long items on top of the racking.

Will fitting racking reduce my Peugeot Expert payload?

Racking uses some of the Peugeot Expert's payload, but StowPro units are built from lightweight load-rated steel to keep that to a minimum.

Fit only the side or sides you need (Offside, Nearside or Full Kit) and keep heavy stock low and central to protect your remaining payload and handling.

What's the longest item I can carry down the side of a Peugeot Expert?

Long items travel at floor level: the load length, 2,862 mm on a 2016-on Long or 2,584 mm on a 2007-2016 L2, is measured along the floor, and StowPro racking sits against the wall so the load floor in front of it stays clear.

Don't plan on carrying a full-length item on top of the racking. Higher up, the bulkhead and cab seats intrude, so the usable length above the floor is shorter than the floor figure. The offside kit itself runs 2,250 mm along the wall on the 2016-on Long and 2,000 mm on the 2007-2016 L2; tell us your body and year and we'll confirm what fits.

Van Racking for the Peugeot Expert

The Expert comes in more sizes than most vans, and we rack them all: XS, M and L, plus the earlier L1 shape. The same van also wears Citroen Dispatch and Toyota Proace badges, so our kits carry all three names on the fitment list.

Shelving kits run open steel shelves rated to 40kg each with top trays above. Workshop kits add a bank of drawers that keeps screws, fixings and hand tools sorted. A racked Expert means you pull up, open the door and get on with it, instead of starting every job with a rummage. Those minutes are the return on the investment.

All of it is heavy duty, hard-wearing steel, manufactured for the toughest demands at our workshop in Devon. Sturdy fabricated end frames, designed to take a beating, 3 year guarantee.

Kits arrive on a pallet, already assembled. Position the units, fix them to the floor and sides of the van with the brackets and fixings in the box, and the comprehensive installation guide does the rest, with our team a phone call away.

Bolted in rather than built in, the racking can move to your next van if it's the same size. Finish with ribbed anti slip mats, bins for the small parts, and accessories that fix to the end frames. And if you want a layout of your own, build your own lets you mix and match the units from our standard kits.
