StowPro van racking is heavy duty steel shelving, manufactured in Devon and delivered fully assembled. Every kit is built to fit a specific van and comes with a 3 year guarantee. Pick your van, pick your kit, and it turns up ready to fix straight in.

The range covers a whole mix of setups. Open shelving, drawer units, workbench tops, bins and storage accessories, put together in kits to suit different trades and different ways of working. Some setups are all shelves, some are more of a mobile workshop, and we're adding new ones all the time. Kits come as nearside, offside or full van, so you can rack one side or the lot. Start with your van: Ford, Volkswagen, Vauxhall, Mercedes, Citroen, Peugeot and more.

Why steel? Ply racking soaks up weight and swells when it gets wet. Our racking is hard-wearing steel with sturdy fabricated end frames, manufactured for the toughest demands and designed to take a beating. It fixes to the floor and sides of your van, and if you change vans later it can move with you, as long as the new van is the same size.

Fitting is the easy bit. Your racking arrives on a pallet, already assembled. You position the units, then fix them in place with the brackets and fixings supplied, following the installation guide in the box. If you get stuck, our customer service team will talk you through it.

A racked out van pays for itself in time. No more digging through a pile of tools in the back, everything has a place and you can see it from the door. Most tradespeople tell us the first week on site is when it clicks.

Can't see a kit for your van? Use our custom design service and we'll design one around it, or build your own by mixing and matching units. And once the racking's in, kit out the doors and spare walls with van wall storage.

Van racking FAQs

Everything you need to choose, fit and get the most from StowPro van racking.

How do I find the right van racking for my vehicle?

Pick your van make and model, then your body length (the L-code on your V5C), then whether you want the offside, nearside or full kit — every StowPro kit is built for that specific body.

Open your model's page, match the body length and roof height to your van, and choose the side(s) you want to fit. Not sure of your exact model? Send us your registration and we'll confirm the right kit.

Will StowPro racking fit my van?

We make ready-to-fit racking for all major UK vans — Ford, Mercedes, Volkswagen, MAN, Vauxhall, Renault, Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, Toyota, Nissan and Iveco — across their common body lengths and roof heights.

Each kit is built specifically for the van and body it's listed under, so it fits the internal profile without modifying the units. Check your body length and roof code against the listing, or contact us with your reg.

What's the difference between the offside, nearside and full kit?

The offside (driver's side) kit is one long continuous run, the nearside (passenger side) kit is shaped around the sliding door, and the full kit fits both walls.

On a UK van the standard side loading door sits on the nearside, so that wall is split into shorter modules while the offside takes the longer run for long items. Fit one side to save cost and payload, or the full kit to convert the whole van.

Can I rack just one side of my van?

Yes — every kit comes as an Offside Only or Nearside Only unit as well as a Full Kit for both sides.

Racking a single side keeps cost and weight down while still giving you organised storage, and you can add the other side later if you need it.

How much weight can StowPro shelves hold?

Every shelf is load-rated to 40kg and built from heavy-duty steel.

That's ample for power tools, fixings, consumables and stock. Keep heavier items low and use the drawer and bin options for smaller parts.

What if there's no kit listed for my exact van?

Our custom design service builds a bespoke racking setup for any van, including sizes and layouts not in the standard range.

Tell us your van and what you carry, and we'll design a kit around it. See the custom van racking service to get started.

Do you offer custom setups or just standard kits?

Both — we have ready-made kits for popular vans, and we design custom layouts tailored to your trade and your tools.

Just tell us what you do and how you work, and we’ll sort the rest.

David, owner of StowPro and with 10+ years experience in the industry: “we understand that every trade and tradesperson works differently. We pride ourselves on designing systems to best suit the trade, the van, and the tools and items that will be stored in it.”

Can you help me design my van racking layout?

Yes, and free of charge — send us a few photos of your van and a list of what you carry, and we’ll draw up a layout using our latest CAD software.

Our team can help plan your racking setup before you commit to anything.

Can I fit StowPro van racking myself?

Yes — every kit comes with all the fixings and clear fitting instructions, and most tradies can fit it with basic tools in an afternoon.

If you’re not feeling confident or just don’t have the time, we can arrange professional installation at one of our fitting centres or on-site.

What is StowPro van racking made from?

Galvanised and mild steel in various gauges, with a hardwearing powder coat on the welded end-frames and panels.

Our van racking is manufactured in the South West at a local sheet metal engineering company up the road from us, who produce our van shelving and workshop units. It is built to stand the test of time and the daily graft of a tradie.

Can I move the shelves around later?

Yes — the system is fully modular, so you can re-arrange, swap, or add extra shelves and drawers as your setup or trade evolves.

It’s built to last and adapt.

Can I transfer my van racking to another van later?

Usually, yes — our systems can be reconfigured to suit other vans with some minor adjustments.

We can advise what parts you’d need if you upgrade your van.

Do your racking systems come with a warranty?

Yes — all StowPro van racking is backed by a 3-year warranty against manufacturing faults.

If anything goes wrong under normal use, we’ll repair or replace it — no hassle.

How long does van racking delivery take?

Accessories ship same day or next day, and standard van racking kits usually go out within 5–7 working days.

Custom builds might take a bit longer depending on the spec, but we’ll keep you updated from order to dispatch.

Do you deliver across the UK?

Yes — we deliver nationwide, to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

You can also collect from our workshop if you’re nearby.

How much does it cost to rack out a van?

It depends on three things: the size of your van, whether you rack one side or both, and whether you want open shelving or a workshop setup with drawers and a bench.

A single side of shelving is the cheapest way in, a full workshop fit-out costs the most, and custom fabrication from a local workshop will usually cost more than an off-the-shelf kit. Every StowPro kit shows its current price on the product page.

Does van racking affect my insurance?

Racking counts as a modification to your van, so tell your insurer when it goes in. On most commercial van policies it's not a problem.

Racking that's properly fixed to the floor and sides can work in your favour, because loose loads are what insurers worry about. Bear in mind the tools on the shelves are covered by your tools-in-transit or contents cover, not the van policy. Check with your insurer to be sure.

Can I build my own van racking system?

Yes. Our build your own option lets you mix and match the same steel units found in our standard kits, so you choose what goes on each side of your van.

If you mean building racking from scratch out of ply, plenty have tried it, but by the time you've bought the sheets and lost a weekend to it, a steel kit that arrives assembled usually works out the better deal.
